Free Tutoring for Eligible Lake View Elementary Students
Parents and Guardians:
Eligible students can receive free tutoring services because Lake View Elementary is in its second year or later of “school improvement”. Although the school met 16 out of 17 objectives, the school has been indentified for improvement because it did not meet AYP in Math.
You can choose a free tutoring program that is best for your child. When deciding which tutoring program is best for your child, you may want to ask these questions:
When and where will the tutoring take place (home, school, community center, library)?
How often and for how many hours in total will your child be tutored?
What programs, by grade levels and subject areas , are available for your child?
What type of instruction will the tutor use (small group, on-on-one, or the computer)?
What are the tutor’s qualifications?
Can the tutor help if your child has disabilities or is learning English?
Is transportation available to and from where the tutoring will take place?
Please call Carolyn Lupo at 843-759-3003 or email clupo@lakeviewschools.com if you have any questions about these services. You may want to join us to talk to the tutors on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 4:00-6:00 in the Lake View Elementary School Library to help you decide which program is best for your child. Application packets will be sent home with your child in the following weeks.
Please note: Eligibility requirement are set forth by federal law therefore your family must meet the income limits.
